OLIVER’S CIDER & PERRY

September 2007 - March 2008

Creation and production of a ten-minute promo for Oliver’s Cider & Perry

3rd generation Herefordshire farmer and current sound engineer and tour manager for the Scottish band, the Proclaimers, Tom Oliver, (Head of O,liver’s Cider & Perry), is an enthusiastic advocate of both Cider & Perry, the Slow Movement and music.

Working closely with Tom, the promo was shot entirely on location in Herefordshire, and follows the Cider & Perry-making process from orchard to the tasting room: harvesting the fruit in the orchard; milling and maceration; pressing; fermentation; blending and bottling; and finally the farm shop and tasting room.

Tom has won widespread acclaim for his cider and perry-making, and recently The Slow Food Foundation for BioDiversity* made Three Counties Perry a Presidia and Perry in the Ark of Taste. [The Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity aims to help to guarantee a viable future for Perry, establishing quality through stringent production standards, promoting local consumption and encouraging new plantings of Perry pear trees.]
